My husband and two daughters and I rented this cottage in June of 2002. It is in the lovely town of Painswick, an untoursity village in the heart of the Cotswolds. The cottage was located on a little street in the middle of the village down a long path with two gates.

It had a little courtyard garden which we enjoyed sitting in. The main floor consisted of an entryway with a cozy living room on the right with a gas insert in the fireplace, and a nice sized country pine kitchen with a table and chairs. There was a conservatory off this room, which the owner has told me has recently been enlarged. Upstairs were two bedrooms - one with twin beds, the other with a queen sized bed. The bathroom had a tub with a shower attachment and a skylight where you could view the spire of the village church.

We loved the cottage and felt it was simple and extremely reasonable in price. The owner is an American woman who answered e-mails within minutes and was wonderfully informative and helpful. The town of Painswick has two pubs with surprisingly good food. There was also a small market nearby where we bought breakfast and lunch supplies and the morning paper. There was lots of nice walking in the immediate area. I would highly recommend this place.
