Location

Holland Park neighborhood is a lovely, leafy, quiet area surrounding beautiful Holland Park. It was a wonderful retreat from the city, but very close to transportation (a tube stop two minutes away) and grocery stores and coffee shops.

Nearby Amenities

Coffee and groceries and tube were just one or two minutes walk.

The House/Apartment

It was a carriage house on a cobblestone street. The garage was downstairs and two storey apartment above it. It was very quiet, no buses or trucks in the morning. Roses were blooming outside the back windows, birds were singing in the morning.

Garden

Sadly, no outside sitting area. Holland Park is only a one-minute walk away -great for an evening stroll.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Everything clean and in good shape.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Three and a half baths. Two bedrooms plus a study with a single bed.

Kitchen

The kitchen was fine. We did not take the time to do cooking, too much to see.

Problems or Bonuses

Good: Wireless Internet was very helpful.

Bad: Front steps were extremely small and narrow, hard to get luggage to the top. Also, underfloor heating kept upstairs bedrooms overly warm. Did not ask about how to turn it off, might be a simple thing.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency was very pleasant and helpful.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, I would stay here again. It was not perfect, but it was unique and definitely not touristy. It was easy to travel around London or to take day-trips to Oxford, Salisbury, etc. I wish I could have stayed two weeks, one is not enough.

Things to do in this area

We were mainly only at the apartment during the evenings. We enjoyed walking in Holland Park.
