The Affinia 50 hotel is, by far, one of the most charming, well-situated and comfortable hotels I've stayed in during the many years I've spent traveling to New York. The rooms are large and quiet, the beds comfortable (down pillows, high thread count cotton sheets, down comforter, extra blankets ...), very updated decor and the bathrooms are fitted out with everything one can think of including plenty of large turkish towels and Aveda bath products. The hotel staff are knowledgeable, pleasant and accommodating. The area surrounding this hotel is prime mid-town location. With a little walking you are at the Empire State Building, 5th Ave. and Madison Ave., shopping, museums, the Theater district, great restaurants and coffee shops. Museum Mile is just a short subway ride uptown. (Maybe one or two stops.) This is a hotel I highly recommend and one I will be staying at many, many more times.
