Newly renovated hotel in Murray Hill, midtown East. Quiet, well maintained rooms, lovely rooftop bar.

We found ourselves at the Shelburne on a Priceline bid. It's a great location on the East side, close to subway and restaurants.

The rooms had been recently renovated in a simple, soothing style. We had a clean, comfortable room at the back (no view) which was blissfully quiet. There's a terrific rooftop outdoor bar with a killer view of the Chrysler building, Empire State Building, and the surrounding buildings on a warm night.

We've stayed at other Affinia hotels, and they're always pleasant; and often on sale for much lower than the rack rate.
