We spent just one night here when driving to California, but we really liked the hotel. It is new and is right in the center of Sedona, down by the river. It is beside the very expensive L'Auberge de Sedona. We used to stay in the "cheaper" part of the L'Auberge (The Orchards), but our last stay there was horrible (rooms were getting rundown, no front desk - you had to drive down to the L'Auberge and be ignored for 30 minutes before you could check-in), so we gave up on it and tried something new. The Amara rooms are very comfortable and nicely furnished. We had a regular double and it was not huge, but was a nice size. They have some interesting furnishings - like the huge mirror leaning against the wall shown in this photo. Our room had a nice patio. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the pool and gardens, some overlooking the creek. Ours looked out onto a treed area. We had a good breakfast in their restaurant. You are in the center of Sedona, so there are lots of restaurants. Pretty views of the creek and the red rocks from the garden area. We plan to stay here again.
