Charming small hotel sited directly on the Bay in Baywood Park/Los Osos, about a half hour drive to San Luis Obispo.

We were looking for a coastal location for our visit to the San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles wineries, and found this lovely little place.

Beautiful Montana de Oro State Park is only five minutes away, a superb place for walking. The hotel is right on the Bay, and many of the rooms have water views or a patio/balcony. We selected room 208, which was on the second floor with a balcony. The large room had a comfortable bed and sofa. The balcony had two chairs and a small table, a great place to sit with a glass of wine while enjoying the view. The bathroom was basic, but everything worked well.

The hotel's grounds are well maintained, with a beautiful garden, a lawn area with armchairs, and a deck where they serve wine every evening. The staff were welcoming and efficient. You're given a voucher for a simple breakfast at the little cafe across the parking lot. We highly recommend dinner at the Mexican restaurant La Palapa across the street (not the Mexican place across the drive) for outstanding seafood and homemade Mexican food.

There are some nice little nature trails in the area, and the hotel gives you a helpful sheet on where to go and things to do.

We loved this place, and highly recommend it for a relaxing retreat.
