A mid-priced hotel with spacious suites and kitchenettes in Midtown east. Great location, a good choice for families.

We got a good deal for the hotel through Quickbook.com. It's on the East Side in Murray Hill, just southeast of Grand Central. The location means you can easily walk over to the multiple subway lines at Grand Central Station, or take buses up or downtown. Walking just over to First and Second Avenues gets you to the residential areas of Murray Hill, with plenty of neighborhood restaurants and stores.

As you can see by looking at the hotel website and the room layouts, each room is a suite of varying size. We had booked the smallest, a "Studio Suite", but were given a free upgrade at check-in to a "Junior Suite." It was enormous - almost the size of my parent's apartment. A queen bed, living room set, desks, and a tiny but functional kitchenette. Plenty of closet space, and a modest bathroom.

Although the hotel's hallway areas were a bit dingy and in need of sprucing up, the room itself was fresh and pleasant. The hotel also has one and two bedroom suites. The one bedroom suites are a particularly good deal for a family of four, with the kids sleeping in the living room.

A very good option for families in the city. We'll certainly stay here again.
