Romantic creek-side cottages in Glen Ellen, in Sonoma Wine Country.

Glen Ellen Inn Secret Cottages provide a romantic place to stay. The cottages are located in Glen Ellen, a little north of Sonoma. This was our second stay here, and we happened to have the same cottage we stayed in a couple of years ago. The cottages have a creek-side settings, and all contain fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs for two, large steam showers, queen size beds and minibars.

A complimentary welcome basket includes a few tasty treats (cookies, scones) and also a variety of fruit. The cottages are built where there are 2 rooms per cottage, but we have never heard any sounds from the other side of the cottage, or even seen the guests who've been there at the same time. Very quiet.

We love the restaurant there, Glen Ellen Inn Oyster Grill & Martini Bar, and it is always a treat to eat there, and then walk the few steps back to your cottage for the evening.

Their rates range from $159-$239 on weekends, depending on the time of year, and from $135-$149 on weeknights. We paid $149/night at the beginning of August. This is a bargain for wine country. We've always stayed here on weeknights, and I don't think you could find a better value than this. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
