This inn is beautiful outside and in, from the bedding to the breakfasts to the hospitality. Comfy and cozy.

A completely refurbished home, with 16 guest rooms, very roomy, mostly with king-sized beds; fine linens/towels/bathrobes. Down pillows and comforters/pillowtop mattresses. Private baths; everything spanking clean and well-maintained. Rooms air-conditioned; cable TV.

The Inn is surrounded by a well-kept, inviting garden and a large wrap-around porch, with plenty of wicker, rockers, pillows, fresh flowers (we were there in summer), and outdoor dining for breakfast and snacks.

Indoors are several dining rooms, a sitting room/library with fireplace and a lot of reading material, and a Florida room. Everything is decorated in early American style, with emphasis on comfort and style. Not at all un-touchable - rather very inviting.

This inn is known for its country made-to-order breakfasts, with many delectable selections on the menu. Seasonal fruits in abundance. Breakfast meats, if desired, are from a local farm, and taste unlike any store-bought bacon - rather, much better. Every afternoon is tea time, with fresh homemade cookies, scones, tea/coffee, and fresh lemonade or iced tea.

There are exercise facilities on the premises, although we did not use. We did take advantage of their bicycle rentals, complete with basket and water bottle and local maps. They also have a sauna and massage services, if desired.

The staff is friendly, accessible, helpful, and knowledgeable.

The inn is located on Main Street, and just a two block walk into the town of Edgartown, where there are endless shops and restaurants, and of course the harbor. Just across from Chappaquiddick, which is a great day trip.

The rooms run from $125 - $300/nite, depending on size of party and season. I highly recommend this inn for a respite, and would not hesitate to stay there again. In fact, this was my second visit - first time I went with "the girls", second more recent time, with hubby.
