Charleston: Holiday Inn Historic District

Surprising Holiday Inn - enjoyable stay.

I booked this Holiday Inn for one reason--the concierage , Kevin McQuade who is a member of the "Clef D'Or" -- a quality based membership for top concierges. His suggestions made our trip; I really recommend him.

The hotel itself is clean, well run, and nice, especially the 6th floor where we stayed as the rooms have a small balcony. Nice to sit out in the morning. We joined the frequent guest program for this hotel chain (although we aren't that frequent) and were given 2 free drink cerificates on checking in.

The front desk responded to my requests for more pillows and hangers with no problems. Of course, it's not as charming as some bed and breakfasts ... but you don't have to be wonderful to strangers at breakfast - and you can eat your morning meal at the Hominey Grill. What's not to like?
