Paso Robles: Hotel Cheval

Reviewed by: lizcheckers from CA, review #1983

When: August 2007

A very nice small hotel in Central California. A great place to spend a romantic weekend in wine country.

I loved this hotel. It was walking distance to many restaurants and stores. Our room "Eclipse" was on the 2nd floor, had a comfy bed, fireplace and vaulted ceilings. There was cake with two forks sitting on the table in our room upon arrival. The staff was very friendly and offered wonderful suggestions for winery visits.

We enjoyed the complimentary horse drawn carriage ride to dinner at Artisan the first night. The only weird thing was the maid arrived for turn down service at 6:15 both nights. I thought 7:30 would make more sense, when everyone seemed to be going to dinner.

The courtyard had huge fireplaces that were lit in the evening, surrounded by tables and chairs to relax in. It was nice to sit outside after dinner and enjoy the night. I would definitely stay here again.
