We spent a few nights at this hotel in July 2003. I was a bit disappointed in the location, but I was not disappointed in the rooms. The hotel is on a corner in the center of downtown La Jolla. The location is great for walking to restaurants, shops and the seaside. But the hotel is on the second floor of a new building, over some shops. A couple of rooms (the suites I think) look out the front to the street, but the one we were in just overlooked an alley between buildings. However, the room was fabulous. Big comfortable bed, lovely furnishings and the best bathroom I have seen in my life. A big tub and a huge all marble walk-in shower. The bathroom was as large as some hotel rooms we have had. The room was quiet and very comfortable. The lobby is lovely and they had a good breakfast room. We paid over $200/night. It is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels group.
