I checked in at the Jurys Hotel late on a Friday evening, was greeted warmly by the hotel reception clerk, and handed a moist and warm washcloth to use to freshen up. A nice touch after traveling across country! The hotel has a simple and unfussy deco-style decor. My room was somewhat small but still comfortable, and filled with all the amenities a traveler could want: room safe, iron with ironing board, cozy robes, alarm clock, CD player/radio, TV with HBO, desk and chair, free wireless Internet access. My room service dinner was sublime!! I had a roasted beet and goat cheese "Napoleon" which was one of the best veggie dishes I've ever had. Yum! The bed was comfortable, and the linens soft. The 6th floor room's large window overlooked Stuart Street and a brick building with beautiful architectural details across the street. The hotel's location couldn't have been more perfect for my needs. It was about a $40 taxi ride from the airport, but once there I was able to walk everywhere I wanted. I set out early on Saturday morning and walked along the Commons and through the park ... I laughed at the "Please stay off the grass" signs embedded in fields of snow. :) I did some window shopping and photographed a few interesting sights, and met up with a SlowTrav pal for a walk through an outdoor food market and along the Freedom Trail. We passed the cemetery where Paul Revere is buried! We ended up at Faneuil Hall Marketplace for lunch, and had fun deciding which food stall to order from. We also bought some trinkets at the Museum Shop on the lower level. The Jurys Hotel desk and bell staff were helpful with my few requests, and were polite and friendly at all times. My queen-bedded room was $215 plus tax per night. I will definitely stay at the Jurys again if I have the opportunity! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |

I really enjoyed my brief (two nights) stay at this hotel. Elegant and soothingly comfortable without any pretentiousness.
