My husband and I stayed at the Millenium Broadway when visiting NYC with my father-in-law. My father-in-law stayed at the Marriott Marquis (which is a nice hotel, too) but we really liked the Millenium. It was a little cheaper than the Marquis and right across the Square. As all NYC hotel rooms are small - this one was too. But when in you're in the city - you're NOT in your room. My NYC friends came to pick us up at the hotel room one night and were actually pretty impressed by the size of the room so perhaps it was good for NYC. Would recommend staying here.
