Pretty inn dating from 1900. Great location near all the shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Recommended.

This is a pretty little inn (10 rooms) located just off the main drag (Ocean Avenue) in Carmel. It is a very short walk from the inn to the beach. We were there for two nights and had a very pleasant stay.

The suite we stayed in was on the top floor and it had a comfortable bed in one room and a nicely appointed kitchenette in a second room which led out to a balcony facing south towards the ocean. It was really nice sitting out on the balcony watching the ocean while reading or having breakfast. The only thing negative I can say about the room is that the bath room was small and kind of institutional - certainly not up to the standards of the room itself. But at least it was clean.

Breakfast consisted of a basket delivered to the room containing muffins, OJ, yogurt, fruit and cheese. One nice touch was the wine and cheese offered to guests in the late afternoon on the porch out in front of the inn. It was a nice spot to relax and meet other guests and watch the Carmel crowd stroll by.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Off-street parking was available which is nice to have in Carmel.

All told, I would certainly recommend this inn for a nice romantic getaway.
