Pearson's Pond is comfortable, hospitable, and attractive. A truly wonderful B&B.

There is, of course, a tale to be told about how we ended up at Pearson's Pond with no prior reservation, late at night, sopping wet, and straight off a 4 day sea-kayak trip. Despite it all, we were welcomed graciously, and made to feel at home. Words cannot describe our bliss at having a free washing machine and dryer made available to us (they are available to all guests, not just ones carting several days of smelly camping clothing). We were not in any shape to go out to eat, so we raided the guest refrigerator and freezer, which are stocked with breakfast and snack options. The room was attractive, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub, with a shower head over it. There was a mini-kitchen in the room (details escape me, aside from microwave, sink, dining-counter). The next morning we wandered around the very pretty garden and pond.

The B&B is somewhat pricey (I just checked their website, and I see that for the 2003 high season they are charging $300/night for a double with fireplace and Jacuzzi), but if we went back to Juneau, we would probably go for the splurge. And while perusing the website, I just found out that they offer self-catering condo rental for $169/night for 5-14 days (longer stays available). We did not see the condos, so I can't comment. However, we will always have a warm feeling for the exceptionally warm and friendly hosts.
