The most comfortable B&B we have ever stayed at. A perfect location for exploring the upper Cape.
This lovely B&B has three huge rooms in a beautiful reproduction colonial. Each room (1 downstairs, 2 on the second floor)has its own sitting area, large bathroom, and an enormous closet. Our room (Pineapple) also had an alcove with bunk beds not even mentioned on their website. Every possible necessity and convenience is provided. The location on the town green and a dead end street provides a quiet, tranquil location.
The hosts, Maureen and Jim, are gracious and welcoming. Breakfast every morning includes fresh fruit and a hot cooked dish. We had omelets one day and blueberry pancakes the next. Maureen provides iced tea and lemonade and cookies in the afternoon. There is also a small guest refrigerator stocked with bottled water.
The inn and rooms are filled with travel information. The shops and restaurants of Main Street are just steps away. A bicycle shop a block away rents bicycles to explore the Shining Sea Bike Path. This is a 12-mile secluded, flat, paved path extending along the beaches south to Woods Hole and north through woods and cranberry bogs.
We biked one day, took a schooner ride another, and just sat in the lovely garden. Explore the shopping, galleries, and restaurants. Be sure to eat a lobster roll.
We paid $195 a night (all included) for our 3-day stay in July.
