With our toes in the sand and the sun on our shoulders we enjoyed a casual on-the-beach lunch.

We had a fun lunch with our toes in the sand and the sun on our shoulders.

There were four of us, two ordered from the breakfast menu and the other two from the lunch menu. The service was nice and the hostess very busy. They take reservations for the inside tables, but not the outdoor area. We arrived just after noon and were able to get a table without any problem, but by 1:00 there wasn’t a table to be had – outside.

One person ordered the bagel and smoked salmon Plate, which was comprised of a generous portion of lox, cream cheese, a fresh bagel and tomatoes and onions. Another person had the huevos rancheros which was “boring, really boring”. I had the fish tacos which were not boring, but very tasty and they used Tilapia for the fish. The last person had the Greek Salad and loved it!

I don’t know how much the bill was, but I think it wasn’t too bad.

You can make a day of it here, but can only stay at the table for a max of 2 hours, according to the menu. They rent sand chairs, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, volley and soccer balls and beach tennis rackets. The prices are on their website.

Adjacent to The Beach House Café is the Annenberg Community Beach House where there is a swimming pool, gym and classes and all sorts of activities available for the day tripper. You can find out more about that part of the facility here: http://beachhouse.smgov.net/plan-your-day/
