Great restaurant in the small town of Glen Ellen, just north of Sonoma.

We ate at Glen Ellen Inn both nights during at stay at the cottages this August. The food is good, the setting very romantic, and we love just having to walk a few steps back to our cottage for the night.

The first night's dinner here was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We requested a table outside, and were seated on the patio. They have indoor seating, deck seating, and a garden/patio. We started our dinner with salads. I had the Sonoma Salad-greens, green apples, red grapes, dried cranberries, blue cheese, and candied pecans($9.95), and my husband had the Grilled Romaine Salad w/ ceasar dressing, parmesan cheese, and pine nuts($9.95). Both were excellent. For my main course, I had the Seared Sea Scallops ($24.95). These were perfectly cooked, and served with a ginger passionfruit cream, grilled pineapple salsa, and couscous. My husband had the Fresh Pasta, Filet Mignon Tips, Shrimp, & Shitakes served in a parmesan-garlic sauce($19.95). His dish was also very good.

We each had one glass of wine ($9.95, $7.95). For dessert, we shared the Warm Pecan Spice Bread Pudding ($8.95) which has a chocolate lava center, brandy sauce, and is served with espresso ice cream. This was a delicious and decadent dessert. This restaurant always has beautiful presentation, and their desserts are always decorated with sugar candy decorations. Our waiter wished us happy anniversary on several occasions, and brought us both a complimentary glass of port to enjoy with dessert. The total for our meal including tax was $98.84.

We will continue to eat at Glen Ellen Inn when staying in the area.
