Casual, busy, friendly barbeque restaurant serving large portions. We had lunch here twice during the week. On Tuesday, I tried the Hand Pulled Pork sandwich with fries. Delicious! Tender and flavorful pork, served on a hamburger bun. We shared an order of queso and tortilla chips and salsa for the table. Also good! The queso had a little kick to it. Two of my colleagues ordered salads with barbequed meat on top; the salads were dinner plate sized, and the greens looked crisp. On our Friday visit, I ordered the Pig in the Potato Patch baked potato. This was the biggest potato I've ever seen! Stuffed full with sour cream, little chunks of smoked bacon, pulled pork, and barbeque sauce. The potato texture and taste were smoother than the Russet potatoes I'm used to; I liked it a lot. Couldn't finish it, but I tried. ;) When my colleague heard that I'd never tasted ice box pie, she insisted I order a piece of the lemon pie to go. I did, and when I ate it later ... I loved it! Lunch was $12-15 per person including iced tea or a soft drink. See full menu on their website. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
