Marina del Rey: Killer Shrimp

Killer Shrimp has killer food! :D Limited menu; extended tastiness.

Directions: Upstairs in a little "strip mall"

As their menu notes, this small restaurant "does one thing and does it well" - fabulous shrimp in a hearty and spicy broth. I've eaten at Killer Shrimp on and off over the past 15+ years; it's a reliable restaurant for good food.

The hefty portion of piping hot shrimp (prawn sized) is brought to the table in a large bowl, along with a colander filled with sliced French bread. Scoop out a shrimp, peel it, and pop it in your mouth! Then dip the French bread in the tasty sauce. Or make a spicy shrimp sandwich. Yum. You can also order the shrimp served over pasta or rice instead of with bread.

Fast and friendly service, beer and wine only, no atmosphere to speak of (and no utensils), inexpensive. Outside seating available, too.

There's a second location in Studio City at Ventura Blvd. and Colfax. (818) 508-1570
