Wes & I visited the Crooked Knife on our last evening in New York with our two adult nieces (Nov 2011). I'd walked past it several times and it looked friendly & welcoming - happy customers, both inside and out. There's a bar menu from 11:00 am to 4:00pm which looked to be reasonably priced. For the evening meal the tables were laid with crisp white linen & good cutlery & glassware. I made a booking, but for a Monday night this probably wasn't necessary. While I can't remember all the dishes we ate, the bowl of mussels, seafood pasta, pear salad & beef stew are still remembered. Including a bottle of wine and pre-dinner drinks the cost for four was approx $120, which we thought was good value for money. The service was great - friendly but not intrusive. We'll definitely revisit - happy to recommend for either a casual meal or a special occasion.
