A Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Good food in an elegant atmosphere. Noisy.

Five of us staying at the Mandalay Bay for a conference had dinner at Lupo's one weeknight. We didn't have a reservation, but only had to wait about 30 minutes for a table to open up. We found stools at the bar, and enjoyed cocktails from the friendly bartender while waiting.

We ordered a couple of appetizers to start: the fried calamari was perfectly cooked, and came with a tangy citrus-y basil aioli. We all really enjoyed the tasty portobello mushroom pizza. Even after our entrees came, we kept the pizza plate on the table and continued nibbling at it. :)

I had the "Linguine con Vongole" as my entree, and it was nicely done - a more buttery sauce than I'm used to, but flavorful. Two of my colleagues had the pumpkin ravioli special (creamy inside, chunky pumpkin sauce), and said it was delicious. Their clean plates agreed!

The service at Lupo was very good and the elegant atmosphere was pleasant, but until about 10pm when the restaurant started emptying out, it was very noisy. I had to lean across the table to hear my colleagues. Then we heard loud rock music from a nearby open stage. Not the place for a quiet dinner!
