Wine bar above busy Broadway near Union Square. Nice wines and small plates, usually quiet enough for conversation.

Directions: Near 20th Street. On the second floor, above the restaurant Punch.

Wined Up is better than it's name, a quiet haven for a good glass of wine. It's usually not crowded if you avoid the post-work crowd between 6 and 7, and we've often had the place nearly to ourselves. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, the food's decent, and the vibe mellow. I can recommend the little thin-crust pizzas, the salumi plate, and the roast chicken.
