2bed/2bath house in Fort Myers Beach, Florida WhenJanuary 2002, 1 month LocationThe house was among other single family houses, not condos and hotels, yet so close to all the action. The house was about 200 feet to the water. The area was so beautiful and quite. The beach was so relaxing and we were sometimes the only ones on the beach. If there were people at times they were 100 feet away. We took a trolly train to everywhere, 25 cents a ride! It took us to the restaurants, shopping bars, dancing, groceries, boat, EVERYWHERE ! We hardly used our car. Nearby AmenitiesWe took a trolly train to everywhere, 25 cents a ride! It took us to the restaurants, shopping bars, dancing, groceries, boat, EVERYWHERE ! We hardly used our car. You could walk to everywhere, some were 1 mile restaurants, shopping, bars, dancing, groceries, boat. The House/ApartmentThe building sits by itself, nothing around it for 100 feet. It looks brand new. Inside I know it was all redone and refurbished with new bedding, furniture, gourmet kitchen and baths. GardenYes a nice back yard patio where we barbequed and played cards. There was a terrace looking over to the water and the beautiful sunsets - my personal favorite time of day on Fort Myers Beach. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe house was spotless. The owner goes down a few times a year to make sure every thing is working properly. The furniture is all new and the beds 1 queen and 2 twins were all pillow top yet firm Serta Sleepers, so comfortable. We had sitting in the livingroom, sofa, loveseat and chair to watch tv and vcr. The diningroom had 6 chairs. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bathrooms were all new and bright. KitchenThe kitchen again was all new. It had everything you could think of. We cooked about 5 nights out of the week in that kitchen. We didn't need anything. Problems or BonusesThe home not only was it comfortable, but so homey, yet not crowded with junk. Very tastefull decorations, all southwest Florida style. Agency and Representatives (and price)I booked this on the internet with the owner. His name is Dennis Vecchiarello. He lives on Long Island in New York. We spoke a few times on the phone. He was so nice and he had so much to tell me about fort myers beach, you know he loves his home. Everything Dennis told me about his house was so correct. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Well, let me tell you I already booked next year with Dennis. I know his home will be booked up by next year. I will recommend this beachhouse to my family, friends and co-workers. Things to do in this areaWe did everthing. Shopping on 5th Ave. in Naples. So many good restaurants. We went swimming with dolphins. I even went parasailing, at my age! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
