Review 3065: Owner, San Francisco Apartment (#25532)
1bed/1bath apartment in San Francisco, California
August 31 - Sept 3rd Labor Day Weekend, 3 nights
The apartment was located in the Lower Haight Ashbury neighborhood, one street in back of Haight. It is a first floor apartment in a lovely old Victorian house. Owner lives above.
One block away was Haight street where there were several restaurants/pubs small stores. Three blocks away an Italian Supermarket Filleto's was wonderful. A great Irish pub around the corner, there was BBQ, Minnies, which was great, Ali Baba's for wonderful fresh falafels and kebabs, two Indian restaurants and more all within walking distance.
The apartment was really wonderful. Basically a studio but large, a separate living area, a good size kitchen, had everything. Laptop computer for your use, TV, a great queen bed in another separate area. Wonderful bedding. The owner lives above in one unit and another is rented. The apartment is at the back of the building it has no windows on either side but at the end is the garden with windows and French doors leading to the garden/patio.
A lovely outside area, garden. Had a big round iron table and chairs to sit on, which we did often. This is basically the owners back yard. Her deck is above the patio. BBQ for your use as well.
Everything was in good shape, very nice couch two chairs, table to eat at outside kitchen.
Bed was super comfortable, one bath with tub and shower, great water pressure. We had brought our own shampoo and soap but there was no need as there was a huge basket filled with sample size, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc.
Kitchen had everything even an espresso maker, tons of basic pantry items so all you had to do really is go and get food.

The owner was very nice has been living there for over 20 years, knows the area well and is very friendly.
It was very well represented on the Internet. It even appeared larger in person. It was very comfortable. We paid $150 per night in cash, although I know she takes checks. I didn't ask about Visa.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
We would definitely stay there again!
Things to do in this area
Very walkable area, plenty of restaurants and bars reachable by foot. Very close to Golden Gate Park. Walk two blocks down across a dog park and you can get the tram into Union Square and all the major tourist attractions.
