2bed/2bath condo in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii When8/3/02-8/10/02, One week ReviewVRBO ref# 11947 - Poipu Sands Unit 322 (part of Poipu Kai) We rented this condo directly from the owners through www.vrbo.com but it is also available for rent from Prosser Realty (we dealt with Prosser regarding payments, keys etc.). The condo is in great location with a nice view towards Shipwreck Beach. It is walking distance to Shipwreck beach which is non-swimmable but nice for walking. It is a short driving distance to other beaches in the area and shopping and restaurants. The condo itself was very spacious and clean. It is somewhat in need of updating (the decor is 80s style but well maintained and mostly neutral so it really did not bother us). There is a large covered private lanai with nice views of the common grounds, the pool and the ocean. The condo has good cross ventilation and fans in all rooms so we were not too hot (an added bonus: the fragrance of plumeria in the air from the many plumeria trees throughout the complex). The kitchen and bathrooms were adequate. Kitchen dishes and pots and pans somewhat old and not the best quality but fine for preparing breakfast and lunch. Gas grills are available in the common areas of the complex. Some minor complaints: none of the VCR, DVD player, CD player or the radio worked. The blender in the kitchen did not work either. In general, we enjoyed this condo and our family of 4 was comfortable there. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
