2bed/2bath condo in Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii When8/10/02 - 8/17/02, One week ReviewWe rented this condo located on the bluff in Princeville for a week. The condo was very spacious and comfortable, with nicely maintained comfortable furniture. The views of the ocean and Bali Hai were outstanding both from the open terrace and the enclosed sunroom area. Be aware that the the living area/sunroom faces west which makes for glorious sunset viewing but can also make those areas rather hot in the evenings on sunny days. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice (master bath with a huge open shower and a Japanese soaking tub), although the bathrooms need a bit more ventilation. The condo is all on one floor, with louvered doors leading to bedrooms so it is not extremely private (plus the master bedroom is open to the sunroom/living area and can only be enclosed by closing sliding louvered doors). The kitchen was well equipped with nice quality dishes and utensils and all necessary cooking equipment. The pots and pans were of decent quality. The kitchen did very well for breakfast and lunch cooking and cooking simple dinners. The only complaint would be a lack of a good grill (there was only a small portable one on the terrace). Hideaways beach (good snorkeling) is within walking distance from the condo (but it is a steep path which gets very slippery if it rains). There are restaurants within walking distance (at Princeville Hotel and the neighboring condo complexes), and shopping and more restaurants within a short car ride. Overall, it was a great place to stay. We would not hesitate to go back or recommend it to others. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
