Review 3498: Owner, Majestic Mountain Retreat
4bed/3.5bath house near Mt. Hood, Oregon
4-21 to 25, 5 days
The retreat was maybe a five to 10 minute drive from highway 26 in the Mt. Hood National forest. The vacation home was secluded and I could not say enough about the area and skiing my wife and I are hoping to get up here this summer.
You had to take the car to get coffee and breakfast and drive up to the mountains but there was ample parking everywhere we went and the closest grocery store was maybe 10 minutes by car.
That was the best part I live in the city were you hear everything and it was so nice to hear some piece and quiet in the mornings and in the evenings. The home looked brand new maybe a few years old but there was modern appliances in the kitchen along with the electronics in the house.
It was a little cold to spend some time out on the patio but the deck was amazing and a decent view of the local terrain.
I loved the Foosball table and the poker table was a lot of fun as well. The furniture was in excellent shape and comfortable and the home was clean as well.
What can you say with a four bedroom three and a half bath house, there was plenty of room for everybody and the girls did not have to fight over the beds. It was great along with the down comforters in the bedrooms.
This was the shocker the kitchen was huge and had everything, even a martini shaker and modern appliances as well. Top notch.
Problems or Bonuses
No surprises just a great family vacation.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
As far as price goes I saved a considerable amount of money compared to any hotel or motel in the area and it was under one owner and I did not have to deal with any type of property management. I've a few bad experiences with property managers and was thankful I didn't have to work with one on this vacation.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I would highly recommend this vacation rental. I truly felt I was staying at a four star property.
Things to do in this area
This was our first skiing trip in the Oregon area. Everybody told us to go to Sunriver or Bend but I found there was more to do in the Mt. Hood area. The cabin was a 10 to 15 minute drive to government camp and then maybe a 10 minute drive to Timberline Lodge ski area. The drive was very easy from the airport maybe 45 minutes. There wasn't a lot of shopping but there was a very good Mexican restaurant on highway 26, I highly suggest that we mostly ate in.
