Location

The condo is located in Snowcreek Resort at Mammoth Lakes, California. The resort is built around Snowcreek meadows and golf course. It is in the group floor of a four-condo unit. The grounds are very well done and well maintained. The Jacuzzi hot tub is located just across from the unit. It was quiet and located away from the hustle and bustle of the main area.

Nearby Amenities

The main area of Mammoth village is a short drive away. Here you can find grocery stores and many restaurants. We were there in the summer and found everything we needed nearby.

The House/Apartment

The condo is in great shape. The owner has been renovating it and it has nice hardwood floors, updated bath and modern kitchen.

Garden

There is a patio door that opens out to a small deck and onto the lawn area. There are chairs for siting. One day a group of deer came strolling by.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The condo is very well furnished and decorated. The owner cleans it himself and it was immaculate. The living room has large sofa and loveseat facing a cozy fireplace. There is also a new flat screen TV, cable TV service, DVD, CD. There is a large collection of DVDs available for viewing.

The layout is an open plan. The dining area adjoins the living area and there is seating for four at the table.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The bedroom has a large comfy king sized Beautyrest bed. A The linens are very soft. A second TV is located in the bedroom.

The bathroom has a tub, shower, separate large sink area. Lots of towels. There is also a washer/dryer located in the closet. The owner thinks about the little things and you can find a good supply of toiletries in case you forgot something.

Kitchen

The kitchen has everything you need, full stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, dishwasher. The dishes and pots are great. We cooked several nights and had everything we needed.

The owner provide ample supplies for cleaning and provides a nice welcome basket of snacks and coffee.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owner was great to work with. He responded promptly to my email and we talked over the phone about the rental. He accepts credit cards so it was very easy to reserve. It was $110 a night + $90 cleaning/linen charge. There are great photos on the website.

He sent along a great DVD of the area. We told him we planned on hiking and he included information on several great hikes in the area. We did two of the recommended hikes.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes! We love the Mammoth area and this condo was much better than our previous rental in Mammoth. It had more personality and everything we needed. It felt more like staying at someone's home than a hotel room, which is what the previous condo felt like.

Things to do in this area

We went hiking. There are excellent hikes just a short distance away at the Lake Mary and Lake George areas. If you want to drive a bit further, we love the hiking near Rock Creek resort near Tom's Place. You can drive to 10,000 ft along a bubbling stream. You can hike either Little Lakes Valley or up to 12,000 ft Mono Pass for some hike alpine adventure.

There is excellent fishing at lakes in the area including Mammoth Lakes, Convict Lake and Crowley Lake. Mountain Biking is available in the summer at Mammoth Mountain.

You can also explore the volcanic area. There are hot springs nearby, cinder cones and lovely Mono Lake. A bit further, you can drive up Tioga Pass and into Yosemite.

For breakfast, we enjoyed The Good Life Cafe. We didn't eat dinner out this trip other than a take out pizza from Nik N' Willie's. They had several different vegetarian pizza options. Giovanni's is also good for pizza.
