studio apartment on the beach in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii WhenFebruary 2002, did not stay here but looked at the apartment ReviewStudio apartment in house on the beach on Hoona Road in Poipu, Kauai. We have rented the Little Grass Shack in Poipu many times and it is right across the street from this apartment. On our January 2002 trip we met the owner of the apartment, and he showed it to us. The apartment rents by the night or by the week. The house is a beautiful newer house right on the water. The apartment is on the second floor, above the garage and main living area. It is very private from the main house. You have your own parking spot out front and your own separate entrance. From the entrance you go up a flight of stairs to the large open plan studio apartment. There is a nice kitchen area, a comfortable living room with large TV, and a very pretty bed. It is really like a 1 bedroom apartment - just that everything is open plan. The ceilings are high. There are windows along one wall looking out at the ocean. You do not see down in the yard of the main house (because of the way they designed a sloping roof over their deck). There is a small deck off the apartment with table and chairs and loungers and a view of the ocean. The apartment is carpeted. There are no outside areas other than the small balcony. The location is excellent. We stay in this area frequently. Good swimming nearby, great walking. Shops and restaurants nearby. A car is necessary.
