Review by Jenny the Artist from IN

3bed/2bath condo at Fort Myers Beach, Florida

View of White Cap from the Beach, photo by Max K

This condo is in a small resort called White Cap Beach Condos, located directly across from the Gulf of Mexico on Fort Myers Beach. Our view of the beach and the amazing sunsets was wonderful. It's in a quiet area of the island, and very convenient to restaurants, a marina, a great grocery store and other things. Our family likes Fort Myers because it's interesting and charming - old world Florida.

Nearby Amenities

We could walk to the Publix grocery store which was a very nice store. The best restaurant on the island is on the inter-coastal, just two blocks away at the Snook Bight Marina. We rented a boat for the day too, which was terrific. The gulf is often so calm and we toured the coast to Naples and back. Getting around is easy either by car or the local trolley.

The House/Apartment

The Condo is new and impeccably decorated. It's very large and open. There are about 10 other units and no shared walls... just one shared floor. There is an elevator so when you're moving in the luggage can go up the easy way! The owner has supplied the kitchen fully and they have a gas grill for BBQ. We grilled our own fish one night. We loved having wine on the front porch and toasting to the sunset.

There is a shared pool with loungers around the deck. The owners provide beach towels and beach chairs to take out to the beach. WE just crossed through a lovely park, which has picnic tables, bocce ball courts and a public restroom. It was all in bloom with local flowers and grasses. The beach here is wonderful ... sugary white, soft sand. The water is shallow and usually calm, so it's safe for kids and relaxing to float.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The condo was spotless upon arrival. The furnishings are beautiful. Nicer than one might expect. Everything is new or like new. Even some antiques for a nice touch. The dining table seats eight and the sectional sofa with the chaise lounge was awesome. There are also chairs on the front porch and the back lanai.

There are two queen beds, pillow tops and very comfy. Two twin beds. Aero beds in the linen closet for two more. The master bath is very large with his and her sinks, a shower and a tub and an enormous walk-in closet. The second bath was very clean, and worked perfectly well for all. In short, everything is really really spacious and well done.

Beautiful granite counter tops. New appliances, Kitchen Aid dishwasher, GE fridge etc. Plenty of cookware, utensils, all clean and in order. It's a very large kitchen area. We love to cook and we were never crowded.

Problems or Bonuses

A button on the SAT TV remote didn't work, and the manager replaced it right away.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

I booked directly with the owner. She was very helpful. She has local management and they were professional and everything was straight forwarded... no surprises. We went there, got the key and that was it. There are instructions for emergencies, check out, how to operate the TV/Stereo etc.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

YES, YES, YES. In fact my sister-in-law and parents have already been here, so I came at their recommendations! We'll be back! Check out Villa sul Mare's website. There are lots of photos, a video and info to contact them. Also, a calendar to check to see if they are open for your dates.

Things to do in this area

Loved Bayfront Bistro and Doc Fords. The two Putt-putt places nearby are expensive but really nice and we had a great time.
