Review 5070: Rocky Mountain Resorts, Timber Creek Chalets

Review by StanInMaryland from US

Cabins and apartments near Estes Park, Colorado

July 9-14, 2011, 6 days

Timber Creek Chalets in Estes Park, Colorado is about 1.5 miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and about and equal distance to "downtown" Estes Park. It is part of a chalet complex of about 15 units. There was an upstairs unit above ours, but they have units that range from one bed to three bedroom townhouse type units.

Nearby Amenities

You have to drive into "downtown" Estes Park for grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

The House/Apartment

Our unit was in very good condition. It had just been renovated. They were considering splitting this unit into two 1bed/1bath units but seemed to have changed their mind so it was extremely spacious. All of the units we saw seemed to be in good condition.

Each unit has a private outdoor seating area. There is a shared pool and some units have private hot tubs.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture in our unit was in good shape, although showed some signs of wear. The comfort level of the furniture seemed to vary from unit to unit. Some of the couches are a futon type of bed and were not overly comfortable for either sitting or sleeping.

Beds were pillow top mattresses of high quality. I am not used to a pillow top so for me it wasn't great, but most people loved it. The bathrooms were quite adequate. Bedrooms were nice sized with nice furnishings.

Our kitchen was quite well equipped with everything we needed for preparing complete meals.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Management was quite good and very helpful. This was for a family reunion and they responded very positively to any request. I felt the price was very fair for the unit.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would definitely recommend Timber Creek Chalets and would quite likely stay there again if we return to the area.

Things to do in this area

There are so many outdoor activities to do in this area. We went fly fishing with a guided trip from Kirk's Flyshop and have wonderful time. Members of our group went whitewater rafting and all of us did numerous drives and hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park.

We ate Rock Inn which was very nice and had a good selection of beers on draft. We also ate at Dave's BBQ. I consider myself a bit of a BBQ snob and Dave's was very good.
